My name is Mark Willis, owner of MySexyBoat.com and professional boat
builder for over twenty-five years. My core business is building the
finest sportfishing yachts afloat at Willis Marine Inc. here in Stuart,
Florida. While the basis for my business is building large cold-molded,
wood/composite sportfisherman over sixty feet in length, the idea of
producing small power boats has always intrigued me. My crew repeatedly
asked me if there was a way they could build some small boats for their
own use.
In response to their request, MySexyBoat.com was born. We realized that we had the technology to design, cut and build the coolest small cold-molded power boats in the world. After all, we did it everyday with the larger yachts. We discovered that we could design a new small boat model on sophisticated computer software, cut that design on a five-axis CNC router and assemble the cut components on a pre-cut jig. After assembly, we were able to refine the design through rigorous sea trials, and then make these designs available to the public. No other kit boat builder can offer the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail as MySexyBoat.com.
Most of the boat kits available today look like they were designed in the 1930's. They just don't look cool and sexy like a modern boat should look. The building techniques were dated at best, leaving most people frustrated, and the kits never got completed.
MySexyBoat.com has changed all that. We offer sophisticated boat building kits that are easy to assemble with a step by step instructional DVD. Every technique is explained so that anyone with basic assembly skills can complete the task. Each piece nests together like a giant puzzle. Very little free form cutting is necessary.
